Villa La Selva

Located near Bucine on the borders of the Chianti district, Villa La Selva was originally owned by the Florentine De' Medici family in the early 1400s.

It was built on the ancient remains of a fortified watch-tower which was used to defend the entrance to the luxuriant Ambra valley, situated between Siena, Arezzo and Florence.

It is a working wine estate with 22 hectares of vineyards and a number of villas and farmhouses where we will hold our wedding celebrations.

We have booked the property from the 6 to 10 September and we hope you will join us in making the most of everything it has to offer!

The location

Villa la Selva is located at:
Via Montebenichi, 35, 52021 Bucine AR, Italy

The closest airport is Florence (FLR) which is 85km away by car but Pisa (PSA) airport is also an option (150km away).

There are no direct transport links from the airport. The best options would be renting a car or taking a train to Siena and organising a taxi from there. Private transfers are also an option and you can find more information and prices here: http://www.reggelloambiente.it/sirectours/inglese.html

The venue is fairly remote, so renting a car would allow you to explore the sights Tuscany has to offer. The venue has parking available free of charge.

Accommodation

Where to stay

Since the venue is a bit remote, we have pre-booked six villas in the local area to accommodate most of the guests. All villas have pools and wifi and are within 25 minutes drive of Villa La Selva.

If you would like to stay in one of these villas, prices will be around €140 - €350 for the full four nights per person, depending on the location. You will be able to choose this option on your R.S.V.P.

Exploring Tuscany

Florence

Everyone’s heard the Doors of Paradise, the Duomo, and Michelangelo’s David are captivating, but in Florence, beauty can sneak up on a traveller unexpectedly.

You’ll duck into a random church to escape the heat only to spend two hours staring at an impossibly pure blue in a fresco. Or you’ll consider writing a sonnet about pear gelato.
It’s just that kind of place.
Pisa & Lucca

Spend a day exploring 2 of the most picturesque towns in the Tuscan region.

Start at Pisa, renowned for its Leaning Tower, and stroll around the glorious square Piazza dei Miracoli.

Head to beautiful Lucca and take a walk through its historical center before tasting the local specialty—Buccellato.
Siena

Take a memorable journey into Italy's rich wine country and marvel at some of the most visually striking scenery the country has to offer.

Siena and San Gimignano both UNESCO World Heritage sites and the quaint village of Greve in Chianti are all on the itinerary, as well as time for winetasting.
